"A man has been banned from having any form of sexual activity with a woman unless he tells police 24 hours in advance."

A "sexual risk order" in the UK.

Sexual risk orders are a civil order and can be made when the person concerned has not been convicted of a sexual offence.

Wow.

So, if I understand Bill Clinton correctly, he can get blow jobs from interns and not run afoul of the court order.

Yes?

An unsung genius chose the photo atop that article.

It looks like a fluorescent-green pair of underpants!

It is very concerning to see how far Great Britain has fallen, and how fast. It could happen here.

I suppose that here, it would occasion an eighth amendment claim and probably a due-process claim too.

Read carefully and reflect.

From the BBC article quoted by Samizdata:
"Sexual risk orders were introduced in England and Wales in March last year and can be applied to any individual who the police believe poses a risk of sexual harm, even if they have never been convicted of a crime. They are civil orders imposed by magistrates at the request of police."

From the statute:
(3)The court may, if it considers it just to do so, make an interim sexual risk order, prohibiting the defendant from doing anything described in the order.
122A Sexual risk orders: applications, grounds and effect:
(2) The condition is that the defendant has, whether before or after the commencement of this Part, done an act of a sexual nature as a result of which there is reasonable cause to believe that it is necessary for a sexual risk order to be made.

This guy has an incredible opportunity to troll. He should call the police every 5 minutes and tell them he's thinking about breasts.

They debate whether Donald Trump should be banned from their island while they let the Pakistani Muslims rape a generation of girls in Rotherham. And then they pass laws like this?

Its tough to take the Brits seriously. They are an island of wankers

I don't see what the point of having a criminal court system if judges can willy-nilly hand out punishments like this after you've been acquitted.

Though it's not like we in the US can talk. When I used to play a lot of poker it was common knowledge you didn't want to have too much cash on you. Not because you'd be robbed by criminals, but because you'd be robbed by the cops. If you have a lot of cash (and there's no legal definition of "a lot") the cops will simply take it. And they'll keep it, too, even if you never get charged with a crime.

I clicked on it to see what he did and, turns out tey don't know if he did anything at all.

Thanks for the excerpts, Fred. Turns the outrageousness up a notch, but I'm with the liberals--if Europe does it, we should be doing it too.

Rule 1, never date the sister of a cop. Or judge. Or, if you do, never stop.

How could he ever know for sure if he's going to have sexual contact with a woman? And I seriously doubt he's from an Islamic rape culture -- that would be rather, um, racist.
