Cool grass.

Cool dog.

Photos by me, not Meade. Just because it's a dog doesn't mean it's by Meade. But Meade has a new post up over at The Puparazzo. It's called "Plott Hounds." Notice Otis. And his companion Maeble. Over there. But here, it's good old Zeus, cooling off in the luscious, Meade-made lawn.

Cafe : Belmont Club contemplates what I call the women's vote. Quote

A giant bureaucracy tasked with providing all “positive rights” rumbles on, even as progressive politics unleashes more ‘community organizers’ while erecting a giant political machine to meet those same growing expectations. It calls to and answers itself. The result on a community scale is Ferguson. The result on a national scale is Barack Obama.

Oh man. . . I had to hide that photo from my dog. He would be so jealous. We're in California where the only lush cool lawn is a golf course . . . where neither of us is allowed, of course. Gotta say, you and Meade make Madison look like a beautiful place.

Oh, whatever. Puh-leeze. And don't everyone--every one!--know it. Just sayin'.

Again.

Again.

Again.

Y'know, I got to make the transition from Midwest to East at age 10ish.

There I was, transferred abruptly, into 5th grade at Central Elementary in Newark, Delaware, in 1971.

From my parents' point of view, they made kinda friends sorta immediately, and one of the best family-friendships that was involving meant that we spent (had to spend) Thanksgiving Day in Brookside a couple-so times, thereafter.

But what fascinated me, particularly, at the time, was the notion of a ranch-style house:

That is, everything was on one level, and everything was all spread out, and there were all of those rooms, so many rooms, which amazed me, and they were so pristine, so beauteous.

I mean: It was a revelation. I didn't know that people could have houses like that. I didn't know that, until then, there were people who actually assumed space as an entitlement.

So, is that an iCamera or a real camera? Them dogs look real glossy on the iThing.

1. It's the same dog in both pictures.

2. The photo was tweaked in iPhoto to bring out the detail and to look the way I liked. You object to glossy fur?
