Is there some outdoor menace we should know about?

Breitbart remembered here. Good podcast just released with James Lileks, Jonah Goldberg and Rob Long remembering Andrew and then getting into Star Trek, Simpsons and assorted other topics.

Ooh, ooh! Tonight on Turner Classic Movies, "The Right Stuff", followed by the best movie EVER, "2001", which will be repeated tomorrow evening on HDN movies.

And the 2009 "Star Trek" movie is on tomorrow afternoon on F/X, and in the evening, one of the best TOS episodes, "The Devil in the Dark" on MeTV. Plus, "The Andromeda Strain", "Some Like It Hot", and "The Glenn Miller Story" on TCM tomorrow.

Couch potato time!

Ooh, ooh! :)

I'm sorry Dave, I can't do that.

I have little to contribute to the Hysteria Café other than I was outdoors today and went hither tither and yon and met many interesting and engaging people along the way and felt completely safe at all points. I find people like to talk. Pull their little strings and away they go. It was very cold.

Damn it, Jim, I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer!

OK,
so I just spent some time making sure that I didn't "sign" the Walker recall petition at this website that is searchable by WI ZIP code. (Just enter the zip code and do an "edit/search" for your name)

I learned:
1) It looks like nobody fraudulently signed my name
2) There are lots of people who apparently did NOT sign that I would have guessed to be signers
3) A few surprises at people I know that DID sign that I would have
4) I am a bit nosier than I thought

The fact that there is the beginning of a searchable database is a good thing.

The real equal protection issue is how much a male Georgetown Law student has to spend on drinks, dinners and movies before a female Georgetown Law student has to spend dime one for contraception.

Have a poor connection but heard there were aweful and violent storms . I can't imagine what they must be going through right now.
Any news?
If that's a bummer then...
Anything funny to cheer them up?

I'm gonna tell you all about Anthony Davis. If you follow college basketball you've probably heard his name mentioned as the best player in college, national player of the year, the shot blocker. He's 6ft10in with a 7ft4in wingspan.

He's a freshman at UK this year. And he's one of only 2 players in contention for "National Player of the Year Award", the other being Robinson of Kansas. He's blocked more shots than 300 teams in the NCAA.

He's obviously going to be drafted #1 in the NBA draft and so last night was probably his last night to play in front of the home crowd at Rupp Arena last night. It was also senior night.

So, in the midst of being in the running for NPOY, he kept taking himself out of the game. Turns out, he was giving up his playing time, and his stats, so his senior teammate, who averages 3 minutes a game, could play longer on his final time at Rupp Arena.

That, ladies and gentleman, is a sportsman.

Shit that's very compelling and you have me rooting for the admirable sob--I just don't know shit about sports and was waiting for the punchline...regrouping now though

Between the security crap and my phone I think I may be publishing comments multiple times.I guess . Verizon and data ugh

The wisteria brings to mind the old saw about "a land of milk and honey." I do so envy the Jews their Israel. As Americans revert to a grubby race of subservient bootlickers, it would be so wonderful to have a christian homeland to repatriate to.

Chip Ahoy said...

The wisteria of my yute was purple, and boy, was it ever purple. They look like grapes and their aroma fills the whole block. Major Stotko's wisteria choked one of his two pecan trees, we all had two, it was planned that way in an old pecan orchard, and the wisteria used the pecan tree as an armature for its own shape -- a scary-ass Halloween wisteria that filled several blocks with its odor, like an industrial accident where an Avon tanker spilled and a whole town is affected.

Just some meat to throw to the "birther" crowd... Joe Arpaio's Cold Case Posse was looking at Obama's LFBC released by the WH. They came to the conclusion that it was a forgery. Having followed the claims closely, I was not surprised.

However,(did some one hear a shoe drop?), to dispell the notion that BO was born overseas, they examined the records of the Immigration and Naturalization Service cards routinely filled out by passengers incoming on international flights to the United States. The records are kept at the National Archives in Washington D.C.

The cards from August 1,1961 to August 7,1961 were missing. These dates bracket BO's supposed birth in Hawaii on August 4,1961. These are the only cards missing for the year 1961...

But that's only a coincidence.

So it turns out the law student who testified before Congress is a fraud.

She is a Democrat activist who went to that law school precisely to file this lawsuit.

The timing was, of course, too perfect.

The Democrats are far too good at this destruction from within. Everyone else keeps getting caught off guard. Well played, if this were merely a game.

Imagine no religion.
It's easy if you are a Democrat.

One of them hit Harrisburg, IL (pop. 9,000)and destroyed 200 homes and 25 businesses, and killed six. It also severely damaged the hospital, which happens to be one our first clients. They kept the ER open god bless them until they could treat and ultimately transfer patients.

@carnifex Loved the story about Anthony Davis - true sportsmanship indeed. More than that I'd say.

And are they or are they not a riot in AZ? It makes me wonder if the Maricopa County Sheriff isn't actually on Obama's paid staff? You can't make this stuff up!

At the least the Dems want just even a small vocal fraction of you folks to be talking up the birther issue.

For the grownups in the GOP I'm feelin' for ya, and not only as a concerned troll.

Belmont Club has a better take on Rush-Fluke

"Limbaugh, by indiscreetly mentioning contraception and money in the same sentence has hit upon the crassness of our social arrangments. But what the Left has chosen to interpret as an accusation of prostitution is really a reference to looting."

Saint Croix said...

The Republicans should introduce a birth control bill along the lines of the 1st Amendment.

"Congress shall not mandate birth control to any citizen or group. Nor shall Congress deny to any citizen or group the use of birth control."

Let the libs vote against that. Assholes.

Petunia said...

I'd like to know why most of the press is either missing or ignoring the real issue behind Sandra Fluke and her claims. The real issue is not how much sex she has, or how much birth control costs, or anything like that.

The REAL issue is why Ms. Fluke and those who support her think it's appropriate to require a religious institution to do something that violates the tenets of their faith.

I'm assuming that a constitutional law class was part of Ms. Fluke's Georgetown education. Georgetown might want to require her to retake it, since it appears that the First Amendment part at least didn't register with her.

But that doesn't make as good a story as depriving a young woman of her contraception.

Great story about Anthony Davis. What a good sport.

Re the immigration cards: why would the Obama administration, which would be the most likely suspect for removing the cards, remove a whole week? That's bound to catch someone's attention eventually. Why not just pull out the relevant cards?

Unless it's Eric Holder up to his usual level of (in)competence.

I read "Sandra Fluke and her clams."

It must be the Maryland connection.
