"Cowards run from challenges, while warriors run to the sound of battle."

Allen West, explaining why he's staying in the Congressional Black Caucus, quoted in an article that is most prominently about CBC Chairman Rep. Emanuel Cleaver insinuating that if Obama were not President, under the current economic conditions, black people would be marching on the White House.

I just got from a fabulous walk around the hood with the rare clumber.

Harvard, Central, Inman Square were my locales. The streets were packed and alive with color. What color are you?

The restaurants were packed at 9:00 at night. I love that people eat later out here.

Also, the rare clumber gets so much attention from Eastern peeps. Madison peeps never stopped and petted and loved. On the East Coast, on the street, at intersections in the car, peeps are always loving the rare clumber. Never happened in Madison. Fuckers.

Cleaver gives the black man a pass. I guess he is "in community". Once a (white) republican gets in office, then they will have someone they can blame and riot against.

If Obama were not President, the current economic conditions would not exist.

More to the point, since black people are taking the brunt of this Depression more than most, why aren't they marching on the White House?

The whole Soul Brother thing the Lefties sold to black people 50 years ago has really done them in.

PS The Blonde had a black co-worker ask her once if the neighborhood where we lived was nice. When Herself said, "Yes", co-worker said that maybe she'd move there because she didn't want her kids growing up around black people. "They're too willing to look the other way when black people to something wrong", The Blonde was told.

I've heard a couple of similar vignettes since.

Blacks, teenagers, and black teenagers. But we just look at the averaged out unemployment numbers. We even take out all the people who quit trying, as if it makes any sense at all not to count them as unemployed.

It's outrageous that black people aren't marching on the White House.

One thing that's fascinating is that you'll never see a black politician like Cleaver speak out against immigration, even though immigrants compete for the same urban, low skill jobs as blacks.

I'm staying in a hotel in DC tonight, a predominantly black town with an 11% unemployment rate, and virtually all the hotel workers are foreign Hispanics.

How many of Cleaver's brothers and sisters would be gainfully employed here if we didn't have this idiotic policy of importing millions of unskilled foreigners year after year?

Martin Luther King, Jr., back around 1963. Tried to get the Blacks down south to "march." He was totally unsuccessful.

But riots happened in Manhattan. And, Chicago.

Anyway, what's this about Black unemployment? When have Blacks been fully employed, huh?

What's happened with unemployment is that now there's white men without jobs.

And, in just about every Black ghetto ... they are surrounded by "others" ... who wouldn't hesitate to kill them. So, no. I don't see Black riots.

(Yes. I did see one in Los Angeles. Back in 1991. The Blacks (and Hispanics). And, anyone that wanted a free TV ... and had a car ... drove into the Black ghetto to steal stuff from KOREAN MERCHANTS.

Today? Nobody's gonna call the police. Any riot will be met by snipers ... who take aim from rooftops.

For this reason, (the fear of openly being killed by non-Blacks) runs so high ... the "riot stuff" is just bullshit.

West will stay put ... if he wants ANY candy for the House's candy store.

Reminds me of this quote, "The Spartans do not enquire how many the enemy are but where they are." Agis, II 42;7 BC

West, being a military man, I'm sure has heard it.

Reminds me of a great quote in the Atlantic Blog post, Stalin's Gift: "The Soviets executed more than 158,000 soldiers for desertion. “In the Red Army,” noted Marshal Georgi Zhukov, “it takes a very brave man to be a coward.”

On first read, I thought that quotation about the march on the White House was a rhetorical counterpoint used by West, which I wouldn't find surprising.

That it was Cleaver, he should know exactly why the liberal-left majority of his caucus is not not marching.

Look, Obama deserves a lot of blame for the economy. But black's plight is their own damn fault.

West is a neighbor I see jogging in the area. He himself is a coward for not challenging The Usurper's eligibility (born British of a British subject, thus not natural born). I am certain he kwnows, as I have heard him speak about it before. All cowards in Congress, covering for their Treason.

The way the US does this is quite deceitful, same with many economists that make "stimulus calculations for jobs" that mysteriously does not account for the fact that 60% of lower middle class, poor people stimulus money from things like tax cuts is lost due to free trade to buy ChinaStuff. It doesn't stimulate US jobs, like the calcs assume. But is great for stimulating Chinese worker jobs.

Unemployment stats only cover people who recently lost their jobs. They do not count the never employed, the long term jobless, or those without jobs that have permanent or multi-year occupancy in welfare entitlement income. So in some black inner cities, the "official unemployment rate" is a ridiculous 12-15% when the actual number not in the jobforce that should be is in the 45-55% range.
That is social dynamite and I fully expect riots. Especially since many of the actual jobs inner city blacks have are unskilled or semi-skilled and non-critical government jobs that will likely be the 1st cut when bankrupt states and cities are forced to cut government jobs to balance budgets.

I guess it is okay for disaffected white people to storm the white house since Obama is not white.

@Curious George...black people have lost a ton of their net worth due to liberals pushing mortgages on them that they could not afford. Another unintended consequence of liberal "feel good" action.

Mick, West may not be challening Obama on the issue you most care about, but what exactly would you have him do? Sometimes we have to pick our battles and the issue of Obama's eligibility to run has unfortunately been decided. The only way to fix that issue is either an amendment to clarify "natural born" or getting you on the Supreme Court to straighten things out.

But I would not describe West as a coward.

Christopher in MA said...

I caught a link to that story from Insty. Ostensibly, Cleaver's excuse for his racism is that any attack by his group would only encourage "all those people who hate this president."

It's tribalism. And the fact that it's coupled with racism doesn't mean it isn't tribalism. Think of Sarah Palin. When she gets slammed by some idiot (say, anyone calling her a 'quitter,') even people who don't see her as the next Reagan are more likely to push back in support because she's part of their 'tribe.'

But Cleaver's still a racist bastard. And dumb. But he's a Democrat, which is SOP for most of them.

You won't have a lot of posts in that thread, Ann, as each one will be some two thousand words long, but gods, would it draw the views.

So, complaining about predictability in white people (talking about race), Crack predictably complains about the white people talking about race, when it was the black man who started talking about race.

Cleaver says that if Barry was white (not black, whatever) the Congressional Blacks would be pissed at him for the damage his policies are doing. But since he's black it must be okay that he's hurting blacks. White people notice the hypocrisy and get accused of being racists (LOL Crack!) for noticing? Because we shouldn't notice?

I could give a crap what color you are. If you're stupid (if I think you're stupid) I'm going to say you're stupid. And Cleaver is stupid. That he's black has nothing to do with it other than being the foundation of the most recent example of his stupidity.

wv: bless.

Bless Crack MC. I love reading his shit.
He's definitely not stupid. Although he is, apparently, black.

SGT Ted said...

Mick is using the wrong word at best. Plus, Mick is just bashing West so he can play his one note trumpet about only one of Obamas lack of qualifications to be POTUS.

But, the foundation of my smack talk to Mick is that he calls a guy who willingly tossed away his Army career to save his troops lives "a coward". If he thinks LTC West is "a coward" because he doesn't share Micks obsession with Obamas parentage, then Mick is not fit to judge him, just by that foolish statement alone.

Unknown said...

SGT Ted, don't get me wrong, I judge people all the time.

I feel you'd have made a more marked point with the facts you just presented me attached to his quote and followed by the query that he explain.

Let him tie the rope.
