At the Cute Conversation Café...

DSC07686

... the talk is highly animated.

The photo is a detail of a painting called "Personages with Star," by Joan Miró (1933):

All the world's a stage and ain't it wonderful. My suspicion is that the Professor is so cute in her social conversation that the other striving-for-approval type women in the room feel that her cuteness is unfair. We men like it.

It's not art when it's only decoration.

Ooh, I love Miro. He was crazy. Like a fox.

Cute as a Button.

* Button didn't hold out much hope for the U.S. to win a medal in pairs. He's a Commie and a traitor.

* Ed Morrissey wins the "Helen Krieble Stablehand of the Year Award".

* The Tea Party "Patriots" must think their followers are dolts.

Wacko...Should the tea party go third party over emmigration issues? That sure would resurrect Obama's corps.

Since many people use art for decoration - walls and stuff - I don't know that the two are mutually exclusive.

My issue is one that a) increases spending, b) gives more power to the far-left, c) gives more power to foreign governments inside the U.S., and d) is something that the Beltway is extremely vulnerable on if handled in a smart way.

Yet, for $ome completely unknown rea$on, it$ almost completely off the radar $screen of the tea party "patriot$". I have no clue a$ to why that i$!

First thought:

If you’re a bird, be an early bird—
But if you’re a worm, sleep late.

— Shel Silverstein

2nd look: I see a tongue, which reminds me of these words:

"Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire..."

- James the Disciple

Speaking about birds: what looks like an eagle but is on the small side and has beige chest feathers? I'm asking.

Kristinintexas that was WAY too cute. If you haven't already seen it, rhhardin linked to a video in the earlier Althouse post, At the Late Night Notes Cafe. Take a look at it. You will not be disappointed.

Miro, Miro, on the wall ...

LoneWacko, do an image search for a peregrine falcon. Might be what you are looking for.

Now back to Miro. Many years ago I worked with a woman who loved Miro so much that she needlepointed eight dining room chair seats, each in a different Miro painting. For those of us who even dabbled in needlepoint, that was an unbelievable amount of work and love for one artist.

I still think about that today, wondering if she had daughters or granddaughters who might appreciate her work, and now have those same chairs in their own dining room.

Always a sign of something...

"For me a form is never something abstract,” Miro said in 1948. “It is always a sign of something. It is always a man, a bird, or something else".

Who says the internet is worthless? Thanks to Penny, I believe I found it, the second one. However, his eyes were red, and he looked at me funny. I believe - based on extensive research provided by the Glenn Reynolds/Jim Hoft braintrust - that it was in fact a cyborg COMMUNIST falcon sent by the OBAMA Cloward-PIVEN Enemies of Freedom.

More likely a friend of Indian Jesus from a few posts down. Maybe he had too much to drink. Peregrine falcons have never been noted for their beer drinking prowess, although I did see one flying overhead in the sign of the cross once.
