"We are sorry to announce that this service terminates here."

From the Facebook post of the widow of Phil Sayer, the man who voiced "please mind the gap."

Humor in death. Impressive.

Especially impressive after esophageal cancer, a bad way to go. Just ask Ulysses Grant, if you can find him. I wonder if the humor emanated from the decedent, his spouse or both.

"“All things considered, I’d rather be in Philadelphia.”

Although that was a WC Fields joke, not the actual tombstone. But then, he could;t be responsible for what someone else did after he was dead.

Althouse, you got to read the NYTimes article about building more housing.

They do these video interviews and one of the peeps they interview is Starchild, an exotic service provider, who is grateful to live in a rent control unit.

Nice tribute to his craft. Public Voice Communication is either done just right or it makes you want to hit an invisible jerk, which is a very frustrating experience and raises blood pressure of an entire crowds of herded people.

PS I assume the Professor keeps you around because you amuse her.

I've long noted that the voices of smokers are often richer, particularly of women smokers, though they end up paying the price through throat or jaw cancer.
