Sasha and Malia are bored...

... with Obama's turkey-pardoning jokes.

what teenager doesn't find Dad's jokes eye roll worthy?

On the other hand, since they are off limits, why drag them to this? Like any privileged children, this is eating into their personal time. Just something the old folks do that they don't want to be a part of.

Wish I could be bored with him too.

Their skirts are way too short.

They have had this job long enough, and we have paid for enough vacays all over the freaking world for these two girls, that they should know by now how to give us 15 minutes and act like they like it.

They are costing us too much for too little return.

"Their skirts are way too short."

Yes the are, especially for the occasion.

Who dressed these kids?

Yeesh. I see reality TV in their future.

They probably got a good talking-to from Michelle after.

"Your father will require you to work...that you come out of your isolation, that you move out of your comfort zones. That you push yourselves to be better. And that you engage. Daddy will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."

I wonder if that would work as well on actual children as it did on voters who wanted to be treated like children.

Malia is wearing tights. For a 16 yr old school girl, she looks pretty classy to me. Sasha's dress doesn't look inappropriate, and her long sweater looks good.

I'll bet TLo would approve. Of course, they're gay, and I could be unwittingly letchty, but I think the girls look fine.

The turkey, however, is giving the proceedings it's undivided attention. Coming into the room, there was some loose talk about a 'gravy train'.

Ah, sullen teenagers. The bane of every parent's existence.

The skirts are short, but that's the way all junior skirts are made now. My daughter wears tights under her skirts too. Sasha should have worn tights as well, but they both look nice. I think for as little as we see them they could have played along.

If they can't pretend to smile, then they shouldn't show up.

They appear to have inherited their mother's "resting bitchface".

If one understands the etymology of the word malaria (literally....bad air), then you would never burden a child with the name Malia.

People with a resting face like that can't usually fake good smiles. When they try it looks like they just smelled something bad.

George Wallace was like that. During political campaigns there were large billboards with pictures of George and Lurleen both looking like they had just stepped in something in a barn yard.
