"Sung Woo Lee was born and raised in South Korea, and yet the poor guy somehow got roped into cheering for the Kansas City Royals."

"He's followed the team for something like two decades now but he has never visited the United States. This week, thanks to a group of nice fans, Sung Woo is getting an ambassador's welcome in Kansas City, and on Tuesday, 'the best Royals fan to have never seen a game in person,' in the Pine Tar Press's phrase, finally made it to the K."

More here

The Royals are on an amazing winning streak right now, by far the longest in baseball.

Meanwhile, a major league South Korean baseball team, the Hanwha Eagles, is replacing fans with robots called "FanBots."

The team is struggling. Seats are empty. And the robots always cheer.

What logic!

I still say white Americans are nicer to folks they don't have contact with.

Black Americans dying in the street? They'll step right over them - unless they do something extraordinary, like return a white's backpack full of money.

Put a homeless American vet in a safe place with money to get on their feet?

Nah, let's fly a Korean stranger to a baseball game instead - that'll be FUN! (Whites love FUN!)

This "country" is truely heartbreaking,...

Royals have an exceptional bullpen

"Royals have an exceptional bullpen"

Big big change from years past.

Still nearly every time I go to see them in person over the years, including this one, that same bullpen stinks. They must know I'm there.

As a Royals fan, I love this whole story line. Sung Woo comes to visit and the team goes on an 8-game winning streak, which they will try to extend tonight. If this keeps up and they make the playoffs, they may want to bring him back for the postseason as a good-luck charm.

Maybe they should play Neil Diamond's "Song Sung Blue" and change the lyrics to "Song Sung Woo." "Everybody know one..."

It should be noted that I went to Kansas City to visit my brother for a few days back on June 7th, which was the same day as they started their 10-game winning streak, which is the longest one of the season in MLB. I saw them beat the Yankees on June 8th. It was my first trip back to "The K" since May 2012.

I thought the Rockies won 15/16 to get to a one game playoff and eventually the World Series where Boston swept. I lost $40 on that series and I don't gamble, really. It was tough.

Jesus 21/22!!!

I saw a "history" not there and not intended. This season the Royals are living up to the name.

Like when I misspelled chemestry regarding depressed brains I see the silver in that "I" am as far away from something that fearful as reasonably, approaching possibly nearly impossibly fast, I could have expected once familiar with the debate's terms.

If anything, he should enjoy the stadium. Kauffman is a nice place for a ballgame. The fountains are lovely.
