Everyone's in love with fluffy cows.

A traditional grooming method, which is just getting noticed.

Loving fluffy cows seems harmless, but some people are always looking for the down side:
Others in the beef industry worry that the focus on "fluffy cows" could backfire. Indeed, some Reddit and Twitter followers responded to photos with comments like, "That's too cute to kill" and "That almost makes me want to become a vegetarian."

"I'll admit, I cringe a little bit when I hear someone comparing these cattle to teddy bears. I do worry that folks will get the wrong idea that these cattle are pets, not livestock," [Matt] Lautner said.

Overly-coiffed cows. What's next, carefully pampered porcines?

Personally, I'd pay money to see chickens with mullets, but it'd be small money. Maybe five bucks. :D

This is why we should eat more bugs. No way to make a bug too cute to kill. We could also stick with snakes, fish, alligators and leftists for food.

Although they taste great, I have to confess, I'm not crazy about killing warm-blooded mammals for food. Milk and eggs are OK, but maybe we could just lick the cute ones instead of turning them inside out.

Back in school we had circular cows. Well, at least we assumed we did.

If God wanted us to not eat cows, he would have made them faster.

There are tons of fluffy chickens (it's worth a google if you haven't seen them....I don't know how to embed images but some of them are quite fantastical.)

The 4H/ State Fair set is something to see as well. A bit like Honey Boo Boo, but with manure and hay.

And smarter. My vet school Food Animal instructor used to say (in best Iowan accent): "if a cow had one more neuron he could make a synapse."

And if God truly didn't want us to eat pigs, he wouldn't have made them taste like bacon (and pork chops and ribs and pulled pork)!

I was at a cookout over the weekend, and one of the guests has a local farm/dairy. He supplied the ground beef for the burgers and the ice cream for dessert. When thanked for his contributions, he commented If you liked the ice cream, remember to thank your burger.

Hahaha, that's always pretty cool to see. Second it's IOWA, they don't call it Idiot Out Walking Around for nothing I guess.

Grew up on a sheep farm. Spent the summers of my youth going to professional and 4H sheep shows. (Bonnie Raitt's Been Too Long At The Fair was in heavy rotation.)

These cows are groomed very much like sheep are groomed for show. I've never seen that done - very interesting. God, 40 years later I can still smell lanolin and straw.

That was, of course, a spherical cow, not a circular one. My bad.

I bet the meat from a fluffy cow is more tender. The Kobe effect. The more love and care you give your cow, the better it tastes.
