Elizabeth Warren says she's campaigning for the "hick" vote.

I'd like to see her with these broads...

NSFW: The Real Housewives of South Boston

As Titus would say, fabulous!

Are the flowers along the border of the photo (from the 6 o'clock to 9 o'clock positions) budding chrysanthemums? Or are they some other kind of flower? They look interesting.

So today I came across a charity cookbook from an organization called "Cable Positive," which raised funds and awareness for AIDS. (It was an old cookbook.) So immediately in your mind you're thinking, "Okay. AIDS. Positive. Fine." Then you open it, and all the recipe titles and background artwork is in this blood red color. It was so gross. Whose idea was it to have an AIDS cookbook with "positive" written all over the place, and blood-colored lettering everywhere?

I know, you can't get AIDS from cooking. But still. Ewww. In the back of your mind you're still worried. That cookbook went right in the trash.

I also didn't know that "mums" and "chrysanthemums" were the same thing until about two years ago. I turned away so many customers asking for chrysanthemums thinking we only had mums in stock.

A last burst of color before the dark of winter.

Very nice.

That's like the line from the original "The Producers", "I had no idea, when they said 'Third Reichhh', they meant Germany".

What did you think of Scotty McCreery singing the anthem? I thought it was over-ornamented.

WS?

You mean they are playing baseball *still*?

I 101% guarantee that those "Real Housewives of South Boston" are not of the full-flavor variety. God damn it.

You inspected them personally?

The good old days were when the team with the best average in each league took the pennant and went to the World Series.

No divisions, no playoffs, and it was all over in the first week of October.

So, you now have the personal garden of His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of Japan? Curious!

Sorry didn't see it.. I started watching in the 4th inning when SL lead 2 - 0.

Such as what? Japan? A name of an imperial throne? A fall hardy which yet can be destroyed so easily? Stuff so much not like all of that?

Yeah, what a perennial. Daisy-like, daisy-like.

Today I saw these decals on the same late model Subaru -

* Coexist ( islam |peace | same-sex whatnot | unitarian ....white on blue - we have all seen this one)
* Recall Walker (the over sized white on red )

Mums are a staple of fall, my wife and I always populate the front of the house with them. Beautiful.

Karl

Welcome to the 'pot, meet kettle' world of progressivism. The clincher would have been a 'Buy American' sticker on that Subaru.

Have you seen this version of the 'coexist' sticker?

I have, but not enough...

As I watch the angry sock monkey gin up the violence of the left base I wonder which Democrat will come along to try to still the waters? I see some that could, but I don't see any willing. Is it because they hate America? I don't think so. Most would say not. I think also that some really do.

I think the Democratic party has positioned itself so that they are like moderate muslims who dare not speak against the fanatics for fear of their own lives.

Its not cool to think hard work should be rewarded, or that some modicum of decency be adhered. That there is a right and a wrong, a heaven and hell, and a God and a Devil.

Let's just party man, if it feels good do it. What? Me worry?

Nihilism is having its way with our society, our children. And what is the reward for a life of Nihilism? It brings instant gratification, but other itches always need scratching. How does a nihilist plan for the future, the coming winter, the collapse of the dollar, the collapse of society.

And who can he turn to for help? Other nihilist? What if that's not their itch to be scratched? They've been taken care of for so long by their parents, but Mom and Dad are growing old. They need help themselves.

Mom and Dad aren't nihilist for the most part. Some are, their spoiled fruit ruins whole barrels. No, Mom and Dad have usually worked all their lives. Saved up some money.

But when Mom and Dad are gone who's gonna take care of their adult children? The government? The Democrats would have you believe so. Ever been to the Post Office, the IRS, or the DMV?

Impersonal drones with on eye on the clock, and the other on the calender. Not their fault to be sure, but day after day, week after week, cleaning up nihilist messes.

So the crowds get ever louder, crying for their scratchings. Look to Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain. See the future for these people.

I've been preparing. My family has been too. We've got our plan, and our contingency plans. I've got to do more PT though. We all do. Better to sweat now than bleed later as the saying goes.

Anyway, its coming. Derivative exposure for the 5 biggest banks in America is over %200 trillion dollars. Just the 5. %200,000,000,000,000.00. Plus change. The US economy is the largest in the world. It plugs along at %14 trillion. China %6 trillion.

So one of the Euro's falls. And the banks start shorting their creditors while going long on their credits. And for the want of a nail...

The domino tiles start cascading remorseless in their pursuit of liquidity. But there is not enough money in the world to even start to cover this mess.

The Democrats have unleashed nihilism to keep their places of power. And when the bread and circuses stop, and the nihilist want a scratch, what Democrat will deny them?

So the Dems will point to my family, and those like mine who have prepared and they'll say "Look! Those people are denying what you want! Go! Take it from them, not me"

The bad news is that this is one of the things we have been preparing for.

I sympathize.

The politicians have been using munchausen-by-proxy tactics for so long it now seems routine.

Their knee-jerk reactions to events have unleashed the phenomenon of unintended consequences, to our detriment.

Angry sock puppet indeed. This 'man' is the poster child for nihilism. The ends justify the means - I'm going to say it, and some commenters at this site deny that Alinsky has had any influence on Zero. Never have I witnessed the office of the president so defiled.

Those with their heads in the sand will be the first to lose them, I'm afraid.

I do not like the direction we are going either. Denial never ends well.

I saw a decal reading "Eating Meat Stops a Beating Heart — Go Vegetarian" on a car. Four inches away, (what else?) "I'm Pro-Choice."

Well said, Carnifex.

I said it here before, and say it again: There will be blood.

This President is encouraging disruptive dissent and bloodlust in a very anxious time. Right now they are keeping their heads, but we are at a tipping point.

What Obama, Soros, and top Democrats have done in these past few weeks is evil. Disgusting.

I am thinking that anyone willing to lower himself by participating in primary debates, probably had not ought to be considered for President of the United States.

As regards Subaru, General Motors used to own 27% of the Subaru Division of Fuji Heavy Industries, and the Legacy models are built in Lafayette, Indiana.

So the reports are all over this morning that Khadafi is dead or captured. A picture has surfaced that purports to be him dead. The scenario so far is that he was traveling in a convoy that was hit by an NATO airstrike.

I've read three articles so far on this news. Each one of them spelled NATO as Nato. When did that become accepted? Just typos in the heat of the moment?

Hicks for Elizabeth”?

Elizabeth Warren’s Senate campaign has been fueled largely by donations from outside Massachusetts — places like Beverly Hills, the Silicon Valley and New York, where Warren held a fund-raiser last night co-hosted by billionaire investor George Soros.

Warren’s campaign raised an impressive $3.15 million from July through September, but just $974,000 — or 31 percent — came from donors in the Bay State, according to her campaign.

Nearly 70 percent of her fund- raising came from out-of-state donors, including Hollywood stars like Barbra Streisand, and out-of-state political action committees...

The Harvard Law professor has tried to appeal to middle-class voters by showcasing her “hardscrabble” roots growing up in Oklahoma, even joking that she wants to start a “Hicks for Elizabeth” club...

Warren’s powerful donor list shows just how important Democrats consider the race to unseat Republican Scott Brown.

NATO, Nato.

My point exactly. What's the guy's actual name and why aren't the news outlets all using it? Isn't there only one correct way to write an acronym?

Hard to shed a tear for Qaddafi. Or Khadafy.

Yesterday someone I know -- a real gentle, smiling soul -- died, and it's hard to fathom that there is someone out there mourning Qaddaffi the way my friend is being mourned.

'Daffy's dead. Good riddance. I gotta say that those nimrods in the background firing their AK-47s in the air in "celebratory gunfire" are idiots. They're wasting ammo. Gun control means being able to hit your target. The sky is not a target. This is why Arabs lose wars when they fight against non-Arabs.

I have never, ever understood firing into the air to celebrate. Did they fire arrows into the air before firearms were widespread? Slingshots before that?

The biggest problem with doing firing guns into the air in an urban area is that the damned things DO come BACK DOWN. The AK is a good, reliable rifle, but it cannot push a 7.26 round fast enough to reach escape velocity. And even if it could...that still doesn't make the hunk of metal magically disappear.

The Khadafi/Qaddafi spelling...each of the news outlets wants to prove that they are the most "authentic." That reminded me of the Jimmy Smits skit on SNL in which he was part of a late night meeting and someone suggested they order in some food. They went around the table, each of them using a Mexican-wannabe accent to order enchiladas and burritos. Rolling their Rs and so on. Smits, too busy with work to care about proving his authenticity, ordered a taco. Pronouncing it the good old Taco Bell way. Very funny.

I tried to find a quick link to a video but evidently SNL is busy protecting its brand. This video made me laugh, though.

Reminds me of home. I grew up in Bristol, Ct. which has become famous for ESPN. However, for about 50 years they have had the annual Chrysanthenum Festival[October]. It was started by a local nursery and the Chamber of Commerce. They have an annual parade, Miss Mum, etc., and the nursey would have acres of mums planted in beautiful patterns. Alas, the nursery went out of biz recently but the festival lives on.
