For a cartoonist, the Spiderman issue with Obama was a little worse.

I swear, the left has no sense of humor. It's tongue in cheek.

Robama, that's funny.

And her breasts are insane.

Liberals are clueless.

I don't know if I'm buying it, but I'm totally peeking at it.

Sarah inhabiting an H.G. Wells imagined future wearing bustiers, handling oversized handguns and leading the fight againt the Russian invasion. Exactly what is not to like?

Someone please keep Andrew Sullivan away from the internet until this blows over.

That's awesome.

In the black-and-white interior art shown, the caricatures of Palin and Obama are not really recognizable out of context.

I was laughing pretty hysterically at the events of the 15-page story for reasons I'm going to go ahead and assume are not intended by the authors.

That's a dumb assumption to make.

I don't want to see a drawing of the former Governor of Alaska in what appears to be a leather bustier and garters.

Cause you're gay? Cause you're uncomfortable with hot women in the White House? Cause we shouldn't make fun of elected officials? What?

I do believe the word projection has been used once or twice, but the idea anybody takes it that seriously...

I chuckled and thought, "That's what really scares them - a truly liberated woman - out to destroy THEM".

It's like Stallone's line in the second Rambo, "I'm comin' to get YOU".

Ordered 5 copies first thing in the morning when the story broke - I got in before it sold out.

My 15 year old came running in last night around 10pm trying to tell me about it. I am the coolest dad in our suburban 'hood for buying him a copy.

If there's one thing science fiction teaches about the future, it's this:

Every woman will be large-breasted.

Insanely large breasted.

Just Huge.

Ann, we need a poll.

How much of Sarahphobia is based upon her sex?

I think her hotness, her femininity, brings up all sorts of subconscious Freudian issues with all sorts of people.

Here's a follow-up question: would Sarah Palin get half of this crap if she were 65?

I know she wouldn't be in comic books any more. But would we have morons saying that she inspires people to murder?

I think it's her sexuality that unhinges people. And she's not even sexual, really. She's normal. She reminds me of several women I've known.

Liberals need to remind themselves that she's a grandmother. Just say it, over and over. "She's a grandmother, she's a grandmother." Then your ancient fear and hatred of her hot sexuality will subside.

"She inspires people to murder."

I think the Republicans are wrong to say this is a strategy or a plan. No. Nobody thinks "Sarah Palin" immediately after a mass killing. No healthy person, anyway. It's not a plan, it's pathological.

Sexism isn't a strong enough word for it. It's a basic, primal, Freudian fear of a woman.

OK, I can think of someone else who is sixtyish and a grandmother.

And, yes, a lot of guys think she is quite attractive.

Face it, Miss Sarah will probably look good at 65 and more than a few guys will still have the hots for her.

So, while you have the best of intentions, I don't think it's gonna work.

That's a great comic book idea - totally unbelievable, yet I'm able to roll with it. They've captured something, and I hope they make a lot of money off it.

Great job.

That was nothing compared to this. Nothing. Is there a woman who has ever been as attacked as much as Sarah Palin? Aside from, you know, Joan of Arc.

I mean, she's not even President yet. This is what the left is like when she has no power at all.

It's astounding.

Can you imagine Bush Derangement Syndrome before he is President?

I mean, seriously, what has she done to warrant any of this hostility? Ted Kennedy killed a woman. George W. Bush invaded Iraq. Nixon and Clinton covered up crimes.

What has Palin done? She had a baby.

This is insane.

"Robama" in the black-and-white drawing looks kind of like Christopher Eccleston. It's an improvement.

There's always Barack the Barbarian and Red Sarah.

Steampunk Palin seems like a fun idea.

Yes, the story is probably stupid, but the concept isn't insulting. The cover art is just too awesome. Love her goggles. I should probably try to get a copy or something. One of the suggestions for next year's theme for our science fiction convention is steam punk.

I could try to go as Steampunk Palin. I've never done a costume before, but that one is tempting.

Saint Croix said...

When Sarah Palin is President, will anybody in the media give her 100 days? Or 30 days?

WIll they make a huge deal of this being the first woman President?

Will we have posters and cups and T-shirts and videos and special edition magazines?

Will Chris Matthews have a thrill up his leg?

Will anybody be nice to her at all?

I mean, they've already accused her of being responsible for mass murder. Where do you go from there?

"I'm going to Canada." How many liberals will say that? (And why won't any of them ever go?)

Ritmo does. and he gets an unmolested platform on this blog. Fuck Althouse is probably going to give him blogging privileges soon enough.

Who can hold their breath for a year and a half?

When Sarah Palin is President

If Republicans are idiotic enough to nominate Palin in 2012, Barack Obama will be President in 2013.

I don't want to hear about how you think she would make a fantastic President. She might make the best President in the history of the universe, but we will never know because 70% of swing voters think she's an idiot.

They've spent two years being repeatedly exposed to Palin's best sales pitches and Obama's worst fuckups, and they would still rather hold their nose and vote for Obama.

Accept it. Move on. Find somebody who hasn't already convinced the voters that he or she is completely unqualified for office.

Then fuck the swing voters to HELL. They are not worthy of my respect.

Robert Cook said...

The Republicans will never nominate Sarah Palin, and if in an imaginary world she were nominated, she would not win.

I doubt she'll even run. I've never believed she even wants the Presidency. It's too much work, will require too much boning up on the esoterica of policy and politics domestic and worldwide, and is guaranteed to come with much public criticism of whomever sits in the office. Heck, she didn't even have the spine or work ethic to stick with her governorship.

She just wants to swan around in the spotlight of undemanding celebrity, issuing her sporadic non-communiques, and commanding handsome fees for her personal appearances and tv show. She is now at the apex of her fame and influence, such as it is, and it's a slow (or rapid) fade from here on.

Saint Croix said...

That's another poll. Who is the most terrified of Sarah Palin?

1) the media
2) feminazis
3) socialists
4) moose
5) Republican insiders

Synova said...

This is what I don't get, Cook.

Why do you care?

I honestly don't care. For all that I'm on here promoting Palin all of the time, I won't spend even a moment being disappointed if she doesn't win or even if she doesn't run.

If she does, I'll vote for her. I might even go register as a Republican if she runs so that I can vote in their primary.

But at the end of the day I'm really not invested in whatever happens. It confuses me that so very MANY people are about to have emotional break-downs over Palin and it's not even an election. Even the assertions that she won't run or can't win seem... forced. Because if someone, like you, really believe this is a done deal, then why the need to assert it?
