"A big gay thanks but no thanks."

"[T]he domestic-partner registry, introduced by Gov. Jim Doyle in the name of what he called decency, [is nothing but a] sad compromise..."

Under the laws of legislative incrementalism, wouldn't this be better than the all-or-nothing approach? Maybe when the hung-up see that "teh gheyz" are just as normal with the partnership rights as all them married folks, they'll realize they've been mostly manipulated by politics into opposing the equal rights for gay unions movement?

wv = "unnial", an annual trip to a urinal that smells of onions.

And here I thought that compromise was the best way to eventually get what you want, when stomping your foot and demanding all or nothing isn't working.

Let's be very clear. Wisconsin is a Hate State.

The voters of Wisconsin made that very clear.

And from that - we can assume that those who continue to live in Wisconsin - are haters.

DTL: Aren't you living in Thailand these days? Is gay marriage recognized there? Just wondering.

Downtownlad...I'm gay and live in Wisconsin. Appreciate your passion, but you don't know what you're talking about. Hysteria isn't usually very persuasive.

DTL: I did some checking. Nowhere in Thailand is gay marriage recognized. Civil unions aren't recognized either. How can you live there?

I'm beginning to hate you.

There are many people in the world that are bitter because they cannot have what they want. Life can be hard for those who believe that their wants should be met. This a problem of belief not necessity.

Because let's face it ... what we gays really want is to screw heterosexual marriage into the ground, so far that it becomes meaningless.

And nothing less that that will make our petty little gay hearts happy.

Yup - Randy has to throw in the "All gays are pedophiles" canard in order to show he's not a hater. That's right - automatically say that a gay person living out of the country, must be living in Thailand, insinuating that he's molesting little boys.

But it actually proves that he's a hater. And no - I don't live in Thailand. But I would - nice country.

And by the way, your post is a racist insult on the Thai people as well.

Keep it up Randy.

And Poseur - if you're gay and choose to live in Wisconsin - a state that has passed a law that explicitly says you are a second class citizen, and continue to pay them taxes and bankroll the hate - you are part of the problem.

In the country I live in, there is not one anti-gay law on the books.

DTL: How on earth did you come up with that interpretation of my question? Let's recap, shall we?

You said everyone who lives in Wisconsin is a hater because Wisconsin outlaws gay marriage.

I asked if it was true you were now living in Thailand (because I thought that was what you've reported where you are living now) and what were the laws of Thailand WRT gay marriage.

After looking up what the laws of Thailand are WRT gay marriage, I posted the answer and asked how you can live there given the fact that gay marriage is not legally recognized there.

Your response was is to accuse me of implying that you are molesting little boys. That thought never occurred to me. The inference was entirely your own. You say you aren't living in Thailand. I'm sorry about misremembering what country you have moved to. What country have you moved to and does it recognize gay marriage?

Just wanted to take RLB_IV's up a notch: There are many people in the world that are bitter because they don't want some to have what others have. At least that's one thought I have about the folks with vendettas to eradicate rights from entire groups of people.

Regarding the article, "A big gay thanks but no thanks" there are times when I agree with the all or nothing approach. But this is not one of those times. Not when it comes to granting rights such as the few the registry grants. I'll take some over nothing any day.
