It's funny, they never struck me until the big pic on Drudge. They looked more like a kid's glasses than ladies' glasses, though.

Ladies' glasses? Why? Because they're red? Because they're round? What a hidebound view.

"Ladies' glasses"?

Maybe we should just be grateful that we never got to see Tom Daschle's underwear?

"What a hidebound view."

Yeah, libertarians and their limited minds.

Maybe Daschle wears those glasses to avoid looking too much like the Tylenol Man?

Matt Welch came to libertarianism from the left (okay, center-left), so he probably still has the need, like AlphaLiberal, to prove he is not an effeminate lefty.

Welch does so with mild humor, though, rather than AL's blustery chest-puffing.

The first time I saw a picture of Daschle with those glasses on, I thought some troublemaker with photoshop was responsible.

I'm sure from now on the Pierre Lenscrafters will have a hard time keeping them in stock.

It is high time the "Emo/Nerd SmartGlasses™" trend came to an end.
Let us usher in the bold, new "Sally Jessy" look.

"Obama is giving soooooo much raw material to his opponents, who have — from Day 1 — been trying to frame him as a miserable failure — which exactly what Bush's opponents did to Bush."

That is absolutely not true.

Bush was praised and carried a very high approval rating...up until the time he began to actually "fail miserably" via poor decisions and a lack of performance.

Obama on the other hand has only been President for about 15 days.

The daily whining and bitching about Obama at this stage, especially considering what he was left with, is nothing more than partisan bullshit...and you know it, too.

He's wearing nerd glasses - not ladies glasses. So, cheap shot.

In any case, any attempt to make Matt interesting is doomed to failure. Matt's just a standard liberal who couldn't get a job at TNR. So now he's a Bill Maher "libertarian".
