So, for "Meet the Press" this week, how about an Obama supporter and a Clinton supporter?

For the Obama supporter, we'll have former Senator Bill Bradley. And for the Clinton supporter: Representative Nita Lowey. That'll be nice and balanced, right?

The transcript is not up yet, or I'd particularize how Bradley wiped the floor with Lowey.

UPDATE: Here's the transcript. You can see the woeful mismatch for yourself.

Lowey had some own-goals too. She avoided a direct answer to Russert's question twice: When will the donor list for the Clinton Library be released?. Bradley did a good job explaining how all those "bribes" would be paid back by Hillary. Bonus points for including pardons on the list [Marc Rich].

Probably never, unless the media finally gets some courage and sues under FOIA.

That list is not the only thing out there. Bill's business and charitable intrests have only been glossed over; especially when they have run contrary to the interests of the United States, e.g. the uranium deal in one of the former Soviet Republics.

Bradley is condescending and sarcastic , discussed on Imus Jan 22 2000

He seems not to be using that charm here.

They strike me as equal weasels, chiefly having issues to change the topic from and not much interested in finding the right words for anything.

(Not sure who the woman on the cut is)

Bradley is condescending and sarcastic...

He sure is. And why shouldn't he be? It works. The average yurtz thinks condescension is the mark of superiority.
How he'll ever be able to wash himself clean after defending Obama, given what's been revealed about that lying hater, is beyond me. But I guess power is all.

I'm trying to remember, was Bradley a Clinton critic or a Clinton defender in the 90s? Was he deriding the bribes and the Pardons 'R Us schemes in real time as it was actually all going on?

The actual archives appear to be a piece of NARAwit a .gov address, but closely interlinked is the Clinton Foundation with a .org address.

I think the private foundation has no FOIA requirement

Excellent. More Blue on Blue, please.

It seems increasingly obvious Al Gore will be the Democrat nominee for President in '08.

Although, I do wonder if he'll file suit to stop the absentee ballots from Afghanistan and Iraq from being counted?

Interesting to see Lowry out there for Clinton, especially because the nomination for senator in 2000 was supposed to be hers. Then Hillary decided to become a carpetbagger and Nita was gracious enough to back down and run for rep again. Sure wish Nita had run against Hillary in 2000 for the nomination. We might have been spared this whole mess if she had.

Isn't that a very good reason for her to put all her weight behind Hillary? "Go on and be President -- and get the hell out of my chair!"

Rep. Lowey did a very good job of sticking to the Clinton campaign talking points and never let the truth or reality sway her from her task.

Tim: It seems increasingly obvious Al Gore will be the Democrat nominee for President in '08.

And what is "increasingly obvious," anyway? From .01% to .05%?

Before Al Gore can be the nominee, he needs to disclose a great deal of financial information--including his shady dealings with the carbon creditors.

He will need to explain why America should elect a porker with no self-control.

He will need to explain why America should elect a candidate chosen only by a foreign legislature (for the Nobel Peace Prize).

He will need to explain his loss to George W. Bush in 2000. If he's so smart, and Bush is so dumb, how did he lose?

He will need to explain why he kept taking tobacco money after a close relative of his died of lung cancer.

He will need to explain why foreign policy experience he has. Being veep normally involves a bit of foreign policy experience, but it seems like Bill Clinton hogged most of that for himself. Just what did Al do that was so impressive and that prepares him for the job?

I understand that some tiny fraction of Dems have woken up to just how weak their 2 frontrunners are. But those that are idolizing Gore need to remember that he has weaknesses, too.

And did I mention that he's a fatty? Americans don't want to elect one of those. I will go out on a limb and say: nope, it's not gonna be Al, no way, no how. Pushing the Al Gore meme is useful to Republicans in one way, however: it reminds Dems who don't remember what a jerk Al was just how weak both Hillary and Barack are.

Have you seen Hillary lately. She's not exactly svelte.

Robert,

I think that she is doing so badly at running her campaign and the media is going after the Clintons like never before. Nita could have just said see what you voted for when you could have had me - and she would definitely have been a better choice IMNSHO. I am not a democrat but Nita has done a great job of standing up for her constituents and a pretty good job in Congress for a democrat. If I had to vote for a democrat, she would come close to getting it.

I agree with rhh: both weasels. Neither "won" anything except a place in their respective candidate's heart

But Bradley from Missouri has a calmer General American speech pattern, yet sounded & looked supercilious & bored. Mr Bradley's Sunday sermon. Whereas, Nita Lowey sounds like a harsh scrappy NYer. (Ms Lowey's Sunday Sermon.)

Ms Lowey sounded like me when I don't watch myself!

So game, set point, match according to Prof A.

BTW I thought it great fun to see Chuck Schumer debate Al D'Amato. I mean, I felt so at home. Like watching two NYers hailing a cab or angling for a place on some line. (Bill Bradley would say queue!) Nina is, at least, better than those two.

And Eliot S.
when obviously pressed
sounded more NY-stressed
than Ivy League-blessed.

Iowa? Iowa? Lowey must be another of those "East of the Hudson" geographically challenged Americans. She MUST have meant Ohio (also Midwestern, also with 3 vowels, one consonant, and just another of the "flyover" states to East Coasters), since Obama BEAT Hillary in Iowa.
